Creative Textile Workshops for Children

CocoCraft Logo

I offer a wide range of different textile workshops that can be tailored to your requirements. Workshops can be designed to be either individual ‘make and take’ projects (for example sports kit bags) or designed and created as an ‘entire school/group’ collaborative project (for example a collage depicting your choice of subject).

The workshops can be designed to be:

Each workshop is different due to the creative direction of the children. The skills developed and employed during the sessions cover many areas of the Design & Technology and Art & Design Curriculum. These include: Developing ideas; Working with tools, equipment, materials and components to make quality products; Assembling, joining and combining materials and components; Measuring, marking out, cutting and shaping a range of materials. Workshops can be linked to other areas of learning, such as maths, geography and science as required.

Each workshop lasts between forty five minutes and one hour (per class), however sessions can be adapted for specific projects.

Previous workshops...

The following projects were created around themes chosen by the schools. In the sessions, children explored a range of different materials and techniques in an informal way through creative learning. The children were guided in the use of the materials and through instruction created a diversity of inspirational designs.

Structure and Cost...

The structure of the workshops is flexible to your requirements. Typically a day will involve five different classes / sessions on a single theme. Costs vary depending on the theme and materials used. As a guide - one day of instruction (usually five sessions) will be priced at £150, with material costs of between 50p and £1.50 per child.

I am happy to suggest a range of potential workshop themes, or to discuss any ideas you may have and personalise a project to your requirements. Please contact me for more information.
